The top three Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketers were found after the final weeks voting as Royal College, Colombo’s wicket-keeper batsman Milan Abeysekera (Platinum), St. John’s College, Nugegoda’s Yamal Siriwardena ( Gold) and Sri Rahula College Katugastota’s Ishara Rangana Hewage (Silver) being voted as the reader’s favourites at the 2013 Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of The Year Contest.

The fight for the top spot between Royalist Milan Abeysekera (85,711) and Thurstanite Minhaj Jaleel (83,986) continued in the ‘Platinum’ contest for the schools taking part in the SLSCA Division I cricket tournament at the end of the 23rd week count of the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2013 contest which will come to an end on July 3.

Thurstan's Minhaj Jaleel (75,003) sprang into the lead once again with a 124 votes lead pushing last week's winner Royal's Milan Abeysekera (74,879) to the second place in the 'Platinum' competition for schools playing in Division I in the SLSCA tournament in the Sunday Observer/ Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2013 contest.
